Many Texans can empathize with Brits who went to the polls and said we want our freedom back.

Gee, so presidents have to follow the Constitution and work with Congress? They can’t just sit in the Oval Office and sign executive orders? Who knew?

Challenging times require bold reforms, but very few political candidates have proposed any. With this paper we try to fill that gap by identifying five reforms that would solve current problems, spur economic growth and return power and money to the states and the people.

“The better hope for ending the federal power grab may come from the states, which have found lots of new reasons to embrace the Constitution’s federalism and challenge federal overreach,” said IPI's Merrill Matthews.

If you're fed up with the Washington stalemate, the best thing to do is get behind an Article V Convention of the States.

It’s time to end the cycle of the feds taking our money only to hand some of it back—minus a big bureaucratic handling charge—if states do their bidding.

The U.S. Supreme Court will hear the second biggest legal challenge to Obamacare on Wednesday, and a victory for freedom will likely lead to significant political pressure on 37 states to cave to Obamacare pressure.  Texas Governor Greg Abbott will be one of the targeted 37 governors.

Abbott is correct; his observation clarifies an area of confusion among many regarding the supposed sanctity of local control.

Some people want the federal government to restrict the states from engaging in exactly the kind of activity, such as tax competition, that the Constitution reserves to the states.
