Last week, during the 25th anniversary celebration of the Institute for Policy Innovation at the Frontiers of Flight Museum, Sen. Ted Cruz told the crowd that 2012 GOP nominee Mitt Romney was wrong to declare that 47 percent of the population was receiving government aid and lost as potential Republican voters.
"We need to champion those climbing the economic ladder," Cruz said. "We should be defenders and champions of the 47 percent."
