In 2016, just a few days before the UK referendum on "Brexit," the Institute for Policy Innovation (IPI) hosted a remote event with our friend Syed Kamall, who at that time was an elected Minister to the European Parliament (MEP). A proponent of Brexit, Kamall at the time expressed some pessimism that the referendum would succeed.
Since then, Brexit did succeed, and Kamall has been elevated to the House of Lords.
