Rivalries in the White House from Truman to Trump with Tevi Troy

Tevi Troy Fight House Event

Rivalries and infighting are hallmarks of presidential administrations, and presidential historian and former senior White House aide Tevi Troy has the stories!

On May 19 in Dallas, the Institute for Policy Innovation (IPI) will host one of our favorite people, Dr. Tevi Troy, to share stories and observations from his book "Fight House: Rivalries in the White House from Truman to Trump," which the Wall Street Journal put on its best political books of the year list.

Dr. Troy, who is also the founder of the leadership training program "1600 Lessons," will discuss how presidents have tried, not always successfully, to control infighting in the White House, and why we hear far less about infighting in the Biden administration than we did in the previous administration.

Dr. Troy is a graduate of Cornell University and earned an M.A. and Ph.D. in American Civilization from the University of Texas at Austin.

In the George W. Bush administration, Dr. Troy served as Deputy Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy and as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Health and Human Services.

Please join the Institute for Policy Innovation (IPI) on May 19 from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. for an afternoon presentation by Tevi Troy followed by a reception. We will have light bites and refreshments, and a limited number of complimentary copies of Dr. Troy’s book “Fight House” will be available on-site, first-come, first-served.
