On September 7, 2021 the Institute for Policy Innovation hosted a virtual policy briefing with Edward Pinto, Director of the Housing Center at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI). In this discussion Mr. Pinto outlines the housing boom since 2012 and projections for the future. Providing historical context of zoning restrictions imposed by the government which began in California in the mid-1950’s to current workforce patterns during the pandemic he chronicles the failure of government policy (federal, state, local) in contributing to the current housing crisis.
