Kudlow Excellent Choice as Trump's Chief Economic Advisor

Institute for Policy Innovation

DALLAS – President Trump has made a wise selection by appointing CNBC contributor, TV and radio host Larry Kudlow, whose creed is “free market capitalism is the best path to prosperity,” to be his chief economic advisor as head of the National Economic Council.

Institute for Policy Innovation (IPI) resident scholar Merrill Matthews, Ph.D., praised the pick, saying, “Larry Kudlow is an excellent choice to be President Trump's top economic advisor.”

“With the departure of Gary Cohn, many were concerned that an important voice for free markets would be missing from the administration,” said Matthews. “Appointing Larry Kudlow should relieve those fears.”

“Larry has a long history of strongly advocating for low taxes, limited regulations and free trade,” pointed out Matthews. “And he has the intellectual and policy gravitas to back up his positions. President Trump may not always take Larry's advice, but at least we know he will be receiving good advice.”
