Google found to infringe copyright by creating thumbnails

This is very interesting. U.S. District Judge Howard Matz has ruled that Google infringed copyright by posting thumbnail images of photos from other websites through it's image search function.

The judge said that since Google receives advertising revenue from its search functions, it is not entitled to the fair use exemption.

Ominous implications for Google Library, as well as other Google search features and plans, I would think.
